Am I entitled to NZ healthcare?

(You can still see us even if you are not funded for NZ healthcare -- the funding just affects the cost of medication at the pharmacy and lab tests -- which are still pretty reasonable even if you are not funded). If you are a NZ citizen or permanent resident, an Australian citizen or permanent resident who intends to live in NZ for at least 2 years, on a work visa planning to be here for 2 years or more - then yes! There is a longer list of the eligible criteria here - and these qualify you for public services and subsidized prescriptions.

However ANYONE in NZ can register for our service and get a prescription. If you are not eligible for subsidized prescriptions the pharmacy will charge you a little more for the medication, but most drugs are still very affordable. We can register you for your NZ Health ID number if you don't have one or have never seen a doctor in NZ before.
